Friday, October 16

7:00 p.m. - Post Theater
Screening of Jersey Homesteads, In the Architectural Vanguard a documentary video produced by Roosevelt Arts Project member Ben Johnson and co-edited by Roosevelt resident Fletcher Grayson which will be screened at the New Jersey Film Festival this fall. The video examines the town planning and architectural sources of influence that resulted in the construction of the unique town of Roosevelt. Ben Johnson will introduce the film and be available for Q&A following the showing.

Argentine Tango Demo and Beginner Lesson taught by Lee Sager, Owner Tango Pantera Dance Studio at the Middletown Arts Center

A free screening for area students and teachers of Rock and a Heart Place, a documentary produced by Nancy Sabino and Michael Sodano of The ShowRoom, an independent cinema theater in Asbury Park, about the volunteer efforts of Holiday Express and founder Tim McLoone. Nancy and Michael will be available for Q&A following the showing.

6:30 p.m. - Post Theater
A reading by Roosevelt, NJ poets Ron Kostar, Wes Czyzewski, David Herrstrom and Nate Kostar, members of the Roosevelt Arts Project

Followed by a screening of Rock and a Heart Place A documentary produced by Nancy Sabino and Michael Sodano of The ShowRoom, an independent cinema theater in Asbury Park, about the volunteer efforts of Holiday Express and founder Tim McLoone. Nancy and Michael will introduce the film and be available for Q&A following the screening.

There will be a reception in The Chapel immediately following the film honoring painter and photographer Sharon Hathaway to benefit The Fort Foundation for Arts and Education and Holiday Express

A techno-improv Sound Art performance with Brad Garton (laptop), Terry Pender (mandolin) and Dan Trueman (hardanger fiddle),members of the Roosevelt Arts Project

Oil paintings by Sharon Hathaway of Beacon Fine Arts Gallery in Red Bank, Sandy Hook photographs by Alexandra Passage and Glen Wise, and Roosevelt, NJ photographs by Joan LaBanca will be on display

Presentation of Diney Goldsmith Award to Sharon Hathaway

Wine and hors d'oeuvres

Please note that 300 tickets for a suggested donation of $25 per person are available for Saturday evening's reception and screening with the gross proceeds to be split equally between Holiday Express and The Fort Foundation for Arts and Education. Fine Art Exhibition by accomplished area artists including Sharon Hathaway, Timothy Jahn, Alexandra Passage, Glen Wise, and others

Enjoy performances by local youth musicians

Grab a paint brush and help paint A Hooked on Art Festival painting guided by artist Broeck Steadman, that will be raffled off at the close of the festival

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Chapel
Oil portrait painting demo by artist Timothy Jahn
Stop by to watch a special person from the area have his portrait painted

Plein Air painting class taught by Scott Nickerson. Meet in front of the Theatre. You will need these materials: palette - White, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Aliz. Crimson, Cad. Red Light, Yellow Ochre, Cad. Yellow Light, Cad. Green, Viridian Green, Prussian Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Ivory Black. Stand oil, OMS (Odorless mineral Spirits), stand or easel, paper or canvas.
