James S. Wassel
James S. Wassel, President of Sandy Hook Partners has had extensive experience in strategic planning, asset management, and commercial real estate. While working with the Rouse Company, Mr. Wassel participated in the historic rehabilitation, leasing and management of Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston, South Street Seaport in New York City and Tabor Center in Denver. His experience with Trammel Crow Ventures, Crescent Real Estate, Horizon Group and Cushman & Wakefield further expanded his expertise in value enhancement programs, financial operations and full service real estate activities. In his early career, Jim Wassel taught history and economics and coached football at the high school level. He continues his commitment to lifelong learning and historic preservation at The Fort at Sandy Hook.
His professional affiliations include the National Association Real Estate Investment Trust, International Council of Shopping Centers, and The Jersey Shore Partnership. Additionally, Mr. Wassel is a Director of the Alumni Board for Montclair State College and the Educational Advisory Board for Lehigh University. He is chairman and president of the Alliance of Neighbors, a Monmouth County charitable organization that provides support to the victims and survivors of the World Trade Center attacks of September 11th.
